When Every Word Counts: Crisis Communications – FbD Lunch & Learn Series

October 15 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

How do we communicate effectively when the stakes are high, information is uncertain, and communities are under stress?
Join Floodplains by Design for a special Lunch & Learn during Washington State Flood Awareness Month featuring Dr. Vincent Covello, Founder and Senior Director of the Center for Risk Communication.
A nationally and internationally recognized expert in risk and crisis communication, Dr. Covello has trained and consulted for thousands of organizations on high-concern health, safety, and environmental issues, including floods, wildfires, climate change, and other natural hazards.
This session will explore practical, evidence-based approaches to communicating risk, navigating uncertainty, and building trust with communities before, during, and after flooding and other natural disasters.
